A Family Picnic Poem by Dante' Camerlengo

A Family Picnic

Rating: 5.0

He lazed lazily in the shade
Doing nothing.
The kids haphazardly played
With something.
She growled in anger and bade
For his attention,
But doing nothing
In the shade he stayed.
The neighborhood bully
Slid in unnoticed,
And started snapping at the kids.
Having him out numbered
They thought it be fun to get him to run,
But he was tough and scruff,
And they couldn’t give him enough.
Then finally, the bully,
With a wicked grin, pinned a kid
And let out a sinister laugh.
The Mother cried in horror
And jumped up off of the grass
And before anybody knew it, like a flash
Old Dad bit the hyena in half.
