A Fool Poem by I, Mongoose

A Fool

Rating: 5.0

Churning up the muddy waters of love,
I a belching frog, thou a cooing dove.
Taken by what I feel and lost to all I see
Heartlong jumping just to fall to thee.
Song of thy laughter a paradisial hymn,
A life's weight beneath thy flighteous whim.
The arch of thine aphroditic brow
Setteth mine beating blood aglow.
The dart from thy heav'nly gaze
Serves and consumes my soul's amaze.
For thee and thee alone doth shine my sun
Alighting a life imagined as one.
With the effortless grace of an eagle asoar
Thou pacest mine heart evermore.
I'd give a thousand sighs unto death
For one sip of thy charm scented breath,
One taste of the honeydew that drips
From red velvet petals, within thy rose-bloom lips.
But enough of this desert-wander pining,
For thee alone, my Love, to fate resigning.
