A Gift For My Friend Poem by DAVID ISAIAH

A Gift For My Friend

My Friend I bring for a gift
For your heart to merry and your soul to lift
Know you are about to be married

My friend I bring for some words
Because you are about to create your world

Well you may not like it like toys
But take it from me with joy
Since you are no longer a boy

Yesterday you were younger
Living in your world alone
Tomorrow you would be old carrying someone along
Not tending your farm alone

In this new journey about to start
You would have people at heart
Knowing that you are
not for yourself again

With a man to love
And children to care for
All these looking like load of grains
You look to God for gains

A gift for you my frend
It is all yours to fend
Whether you like it or not
Sooner a bride you are going to be
A mother You would be
All these comes with prices to pay

Make sure you learn to love
Since this is the first ingredients you need to cook all your meals
With understanding your home would stand
This what the Bible says

My friend, today you are free like bird flying with ease
Tomorrow would not be so
With a man as head and children as duty
Your freedom would soon be slim

Learn to gather and not to scatter
Since there would be more bills to pay
Love your spouse
Train your wards
Giving no room pills

My Friend
No I have no pounds to give
No gold as gift
But please let your heart rejoice with this little gift mine.
