A Good Man Poem by Alexander Downie

A Good Man

She did not look for smooth skin and taught toned flesh,
She looked for a good man.
She did not seek to lie to herself or others to make truth fit.
She looked for a good man.
She did not let warm words caress her ego, she let his actions speak.
She looked for a good man.
She did not wilt at his tender touch; she waited until she was sure.
She found a good man.
