A Hidden Life Poem by Aurea Armbruster

A Hidden Life

Showing to the world
A smiling face
As my eyes proclaim
A look of grace

Everyone thinks that
My life is perfect
They see me as a
Life with no bad effect

What they do not know
Is that I’m filled with pain
That my life is terrible
And my heart full of chains

Nobody can see that
My life is not great
That my mind is in
An unloved state

Everyone leaves me
All others die away
And that leaves me in
A world filled with grey
