A Lady Of Beauty Poem by Shawn Greyling

A Lady Of Beauty

Rating: 5.0

Nature shows off its Beauty
with the flowers of the field
and the whispers of the wind,
but non of this compares to the stars of her eyes,
flower of nature in her hair and smile of a world once lost.
She wears nature Beautifully.

Her body is Babylon singing songs
of feasts and wars and adoration,
yet her innocence hides behind a sweet kiss.

In silence i watch her hands,
fingers of adulation
lull the negativity of a nation.
Like a goddess she floats to and fro'
through fields of corn of ground of grass
into the hearts of men.

Her dance intoxicates me
as silence is the only word spoken,
the poet breathes her in.

Sun sings praises with its rays
dancing upon her skin,
the deepest jealousies my heart touches,
for the sun always shines upon the soft skin of her neck
where my kisses long to be.

Joy do the angels-
and scorn
for they can not dwell among her;
Whereas my luck, my eternal sunshine,
gives me the upper hand over Heaven,
that my sight may foreswear
True Beauty in all its delight.
