A Letter To Myself - Poem by michael thompson

i am writing
this letter to myself
tired of screaming
when nobody listens

the cycle of pain
and damage done
turns to scars
that never heal

the sacred ghosts
now are demons
that swallow me whole
until i stripped naked

angels have left me
for those less tormented
and so i dance
with the devil inside
