A Lie Poem by Rosemary Monahan

A Lie

Real happiness is you being with me
And the joy of love you've given me
You name is etched in my heart
My soul tells me we will never part
Once I didn't know the meaning of love
Now, I know, love is a feeling
Don't always show my love for you.
They say love is everlasting
Let our love be never-ending
Even when I say to you, a cruel word
Really, don't mean it, you're my world
I've learned a great deal from you
Love and life, I do appreciate you.
Only one last thing I have to tell you
Vital information that you need to know
Ever since we've been together
You've made me world a whole lot brighter.
