A Love Worth Every Storm Poem by Faith Cecelia Story

A Love Worth Every Storm

I want a love that does not arrive quietly—
but breaks through me
like thunder remembering the sky.

A love so rare
it humbles mountains,
so sweet
it makes the summit feel unfinished—
as if every peak I've climbed
was only practice
for reaching him.

Let it be wild.

Let it find me
walking through storms
with lightning stitching my name
into the earth—
every step trembling,
every breath a question,
yet I keep moving,
because somewhere beyond the roar
is a soul that answers mine.

I want a love that hears me
even when I am lost in forests—
when I am nothing but a pulse and a cry,
when I roar like something ancient and untamed,
and still—
he turns,
he listens,
he follows the sound of me
as if it were home.

I want a love that meets me in deserts—
where thirst teaches truth,
where silence strips away illusion—
and there,
in the middle of my becoming,
he appears like water
no map could promise.

Not just to quench me—
but to understand
every dryness I survived.

I want a love that blooms like spring
after I have endured every season—
where flowers do not just open,
they recognize me,
and in their quiet unfolding
I see us—
soft, certain, divine.

I want a love that unsettles the wind—
that makes it hesitate
when I walk through valleys,
as if even the air knows
something sacred is passing through.

Let it shake me.
Let it almost undo me.

Let the cold bite my skin,
let the wind howl into my bones—
because I will walk through it all
knowing
there is a moment waiting
where everything softens.

Where trembling hands find his,
where breath steadies against his chest,
where the storm leaves my body
the second he holds me.

And in that stillness—
his eyes,
warm and unwavering,
will say what no storm ever could:

You made it.
You were always meant to find me.

This is the love I want—
not easy,
not quiet,
but undeniable.

A love worth every storm
that tried to stop me
from becoming
the woman who could hold it.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem explores a deep, almost primal longing for a rare and transformative love—one that is tested through storms, distance, and personal endurance. It uses powerful natural imagery (mountains, thunder, desert, wind) to show that true love is not just found, but earned through resilience. At its core, it speaks of a soul-deep connection that brings peace, recognition, and home after chaos.
