A Mile In My Shoes - Poem by Joey Habib

its not easy to walk a mile in my shoes...
but i will never give up so therefor i will never lose...
but my mind is haunted by the demons of my past...
so maybe i should just let go and be free atlast...
ive had nightmares and homicidal fantasies...
waking up to a puddle of sweat in my bed sheets...
why is this happening to me...
why cant i just be free...
i always feel like im in midtown at high noon....
then i look up and see the stars winking at me hiding behind the moon...
so i get confused...
day feels like night and night feels like day....
but i found peace with in so i can finally put these feelings at bay....

i wish there was more peace in this world.
im not a hippie..but our whole world going down the drain depresses me, and i want to do so much to fix it...
i think more people should think happier and on the brighter side.
    where the grass IS greener.
