A Mother's Day Approbrium Poem by Bill Grace

A Mother's Day Approbrium

The woman who most in our church would vote a saint
Shared that if she had known at birth
The pain that that young infant would bring
The destruction of inheritance, lawyers, counselors, judges and debt
She would have drowned him long before
Drugs carried him to their universe.
But, she did not know and her son -
Now liberated from the talons of this evil
Will, if you wish to take my bet,
Bless her with a: 'Happy Mother's day! '
A few days forward from these lines.
