A New Kingdom Poem by Mr. Prince (G.G.)

A New Kingdom

Steadily, I stroll across the castle grounds,
wet, from the purple rain drops on my robes,
silenced, by the thoughts swarming all around.

How could, after all this time, I see myself leaving this place, I called home?
After I leave the king,
I’m all alone.

I see the gates moving closer, with every step I take.
I know that if I look back, I’ll stop,
And I would, if I took a break.

I look up towards the clouds, in the purple sky,
With so many questions in my head,
Do you ever wonder why?

Why does time go so fast when you want it to go slow?
Why does what all you’ve ever wanted, scare you?
Do you know?

Soon it will all come.
I am not crawling, but I’m not running either.
A declaration to my new Kingdom,
“Kingdom here I come! ”
