A Pair Of Blue Eyes Poem by Elia Michael

A Pair Of Blue Eyes

They say that eyes of blue are cold
Yet yours have the warmth of gold
Its glint and a cornflower hue
What a sight for me to behold!

A lifetime ago I met you
I noticed your eyes of blue
And you were attracted to me
From that moment on my love grew

Your eyes were the colour of sea
My heart overflowed with glee
I just wanted you to enfold
Your arms lovingly around me

And now I am so very old
Your warmth keeps away the cold
Onto this memory I'll hold
Till my life will no more unfold
