A Place For My Madness Poem by Tim Vallie

A Place For My Madness

All I ever wanted was a place for my madness
A place for my joys, a place for my sadness
A place where I can lock away all of my fears
A place where my dreams can lie on for years
A place where the world does bow to my whim
Where my musings of madness are filled to the brim
Where dragons do fly and demons do dwell
That place in my dreams of both heaven and hell

All I ever wanted was a place for my madness
A place for the tears, a place for the gladness
A place where my monsters do battle for glory
A place where I’m author of every story
A place where even I create the gods
A place where I am the one who makes all the odds
A place where my musings and dreams spring to life
Where fantasy and fiction are not all pretend
A place where the story never has to end

Wars recreated in the fields of my mind
Where you anything desired is easy to find
A place where yesterday and tomorrow do war
A place where the ending is mine ever more

All I ever needed was a place for my insanity
A place to hide all my pride and my vanity
A place where all of my stories have breath
A place where I can put all my boredom to death
A place where the shadows do dance with the light
A place where the day is married to the night

All I ever wanted was a place for my madness
A place for my goodness, a place for my badness
A place to store every hope, every dream
A place to hide every hurt, every scream
A place where the sword and the pen are one
A place where three moons rise and set with the sun

All I ever wanted was place for myself
Where every creation is kept like books on a shelf
A place for my paradise, a place for my hell
A place knows me and I know so well
A place or my dreams, my joys, and my sadness
All I ever needed was a place for my madness

This is so beautifully written and I think is one of the best poems I've read on this site. Everyone must have that place for their madness, their flaws, their hopes and dreams, their failures and successes and for me that place is poetry so it's very fitting that your description of this place is in poetic form. The rhymes are great and it doesn't seem forced at all. Immensely well done - this is going on my poem list and with your permission I might post it on my Facebook page.
