A Shadow In The Dark Poem by Britt Veloso

A Shadow In The Dark

I find myself a shadow in the dark
A blind little bird in a storm
I see a bigger star above
But none see me
I'm just a shadow in the dark

A fond figure in the crowd
With a yearning to fight
No time for them to find me
I'm just a shadow in the dark

None see my pale face
I've barely walked from place to place
A ferocious hound could not detect
Any of my sounds or scents
I'm just a shadow in the dark

A blindfolded darling in an eyeless deep
What they're missing in me
I'm just a girl of the shadow
The shadow of the dark
Here to scrape, rip and indict her mark
