A Shadow Of Love Poem by Reagan A. Latumbo

A Shadow Of Love

Rating: 5.0

February fourteen and you are turning eighteen,
You are so lovely and no longer a teen.

It was a day of love,
It was your natal day full of love.

Your family smiles at you,
Your friends hugging and kissing you.

I am just a boy who fell in love with you.
But you never knew my presence nor came to realize that I was there too.

If I can only take a step and go near you,
If I can only say the word 'I Like You'.

If I only have the courage to say 'Your lovely tonight',
If I only have the guts to ask 'Will you dance with me' and hold my hands so tight.

I don't want to ruin your special day,
I don't want to change the smiling form in your face.

But as for me, I will forever be a shadow of your love,
waiting, and waiting for your love that you are also willing to give.
