A Soldier's Fate Poem by Joanna Patino

A Soldier's Fate

Down walks the noble soldier to face his death
Fighting and saving until the last breath
All he sees is black and red
Deep inside he's already dead
The only thing he thinks about
Is his family and getting out
Hes seen too much
He is fed up
But it's to late
His poor soul can't be saved
With all his cuts and wounds
His heart still beats in tune
His body is sore
Yet still he goes onward
He didn't pick this destiny
He rather be with his family
But preasured in to fight
He knows he'll die tonight
One last tear he sheds
Into this hell he was led
All he can do is hope and pray
That soon this will go away
Suddenly he feels
A sword puncture through his heart of steel
For this has ended his pain
As his body, now still, lays
