A Stare At The Blinding Darkness Poem by John Hughes

A Stare At The Blinding Darkness

A stare at the blinding darkness: -

The sky has lost her looming lustre,
And here I am in this purgatory.
Light is near and far away with this gesture;
The ground is solitary.

Do not fail to understand,
Like a rock which becomes sand.
It is with infinite zeal that I stand;
Everything will be questioned in this land.

The waves are beginning to creak,
Desire has been ravaged.
We were never meant to have a streak,
'Tis something in which we engaged

Existence is destined to doom,
And I am the star who has to rise.
To learn how to live with this gloom,
Peer past the insurmountable surprise.
