A Sunny Day Poem by Clyde King

A Sunny Day

The day is sunny
so let us go together
to the beach and let us stay
until the sun sets and
the birds have gone asleep.

The moon watches us
in each other's arms
as we move beyond thought
into a world of feelings and
transcend our earthly figures.

You look into my soul
and see only ghostly
phantoms muttering
empty words and curses
that nobody has ever
uttered before.
