A Threnody To Mama Poem by Samuel Obono Jr

A Threnody To Mama

My face wears a reminiscent smile
yet i cry her a river
i see her walk down that glorious aisle
The Father, glad to receive her
her life, a soothing melody
that which was played to the end
forever you'll remained etched in my memory
mama, my mother, my friend

Time cannot posses your place
your virtuous smile and warm embrace
the wounds of your absence shall forever be felt
mama made my mountains melt
And though you rest below the earth
you remain alive in my every breath
