A Word To The Faithful Poem by Michael P. Johnson

A Word To The Faithful

A WORD TO THE FAITHFUL
Some prosper through the work they've done
In most subservient ways
Lifting in truth our Father's Son
Righteously all their days

Good Shepherds, no one should forget
Who show God's love and care
Who have their heart quite firmly set
God's flock their lives to share

They'll bend their knee they'll bend there back
Their sleeves, they'll roll up tight
They'll suffer self when others lack
To glorify The Light

Standing, when all around them fall
Remaining Jesus true
They've heard their Saviour's trumpet call
That changed their worldly view

Valiant soldiers of the cross
Through Jesus born-again
Who care not if they suffer loss
Or bear another's pain

We see them here, observe them there
Planting life's righteous seed
True ministers serve everywhere
Meeting God's children's need

God's reckoning may soon arise
With such tremendous speed
When righteousness with open eyes
Will judge man's word and deed

The scriptures tell us all too plain
That all may understand
Give free; but not for selfish gain
Serving as Heaven planned.....
