About Me - Poem by P. A. Donohue

sometimes I wonder about me, am perplexed and really feel
that I am one hated bitch destined to live life free
of everything necessary to bring out the woman in me

how can i do what i want to do or be who I want to be
when I am so dependent on finding love you see but
how to go about it is distressing me endlessly

first I am called sexy and may a honey be but
when I ‘lens’ my assets they tend to run from me
and everything is stripped away that can make me happy

how can I be who I want to be or see what I want to see
when I am kept from finding out why they flee from me but
how to know about it is distressing me endlessly

Twice I followed all the rules marriage and family
Worked to pay for mortgage, care, taxes exemplary
Of everything necessary to profit the husbands see.

How can I live as I want to live or live so happily
When neither would really show me the kind of love I need
with everything necessary to bring out the woman in me

Appear to be a whore and with words a slut I am
And baring all is bearing all the worst is shown on cam
What I think men want from me is really not at all
When I think they love me they don’t return my call.

An excellent, well penned and poignant write straight like an arrow! It shows that you got what it takes to make through the poetry world.Where you are right now I was some time ago but with time I grew and moved on. Thank God I overcame these adversities of life and survived. Please, if you have time to read and enjoy my poem titled: IN PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS! For your poem I granted a 10+++ Keep it up! Love and Peace for always! ... (Report) Reply

Excellent poem! Gutsy confession. An esoteric sensualism is abundant. First time I read of this style of yours. A subtle voice and a hypnotic low murmur whisper. A Circe? Mostly small words that account on a complicated synthesis of concepts. Bravo! Thank you! (Report) Reply
