Absent Apology Poem by Samujjwal Dey

Absent Apology

Quiet shall become the crying heart,
Only that had the right to cry.
Free be the birds, chained for years,
The dusk is hiding from the night.
Over my shadows, the gallows shall rise;
The shadow, better than the body.
The hand with a ring, and a pen, and a paper,
Never found the words to write.
And the stories storming the mind;
Concur with the faults never checked.
Hold the candles, to burn the gallows,
For the ring must find the finger it fits.
Only dear friend hand me the unwritten letter,
An apology must not it be;
A beast and a beauty not meant to meet,
Doors closed shall engulf the keys.
