Abstract Advice Poem by Cicero Grey

Abstract Advice

Your poetry will never bloom
out past your room, my dear
Your rhyme and meter shackles
keep your poems leashed and near

Yes, listen to the pros, my dear
and let your words just shine
Don't compromise your voice
to match the rhythm, line by line

Okay, okay
I'll try to break away
Away astray
I will try your abstract way with words
and metaphors someday
But I like my rhyme and meter and
for me, they're here to stay
Sir, I promise I will try it soon But I'm sorry, not today
