Accept The Truth (2) Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Accept The Truth (2)

ACCEPT THE TRUTH…..(2)
The truth can hurt can tear in two
Rip families apart
Yet what for some is hard to chew
Can heal a broken heart

Drink deep Salvation's cup of grace
Accept the hand of love
Regard God's servants face to face
He sends through Christ above

Even where wisdom's given free
Where lamps could shine so bright
Religious eyes fail oft to see
The truth so plain in sight

If truth today should raise its head
If life's to be conceived
Give thanks, and eat Salvation's bread
So Christ can be received

It's hard sometimes to seek true light
Where darkness wears disguise
But God sees all from Heaven's height
And makes His children wise

Too long man's worn the devil's shroud
Living some foolish lie
Erring deceived amidst the crowd
Condemned with sin to die

Deception clouds both heart and mind
Makes drunk as sweet old wine
Makes deaf to truth, to wisdom blind
A cancer to the Vine

Whilst grace and truth can still be found
But fools from God would hide
Let wisdom lead to hallowed ground
Let Jesus turn the tide…
