Across The Waiting Years Poem by Patrick William Kavanagh

Across The Waiting Years

Lost in solitude, I saw yours eyes were watching me,
Quietly intent, your gaze caressed my face,
Dreamily, entranced, my soul was drawn to yours,
Drifting, floating far away with you to some strange mystic place,
and I was yours again, the waiting years were gone forever more,
Our Souls once more entwined on that far shore.

Stay beside me, never go away again,
How I lost you, I will never understand.
Twin Flames, - our candles burnt as one,
Until one fateful day your light was gone.
and I was lost in darkness, I just walked away.
The light of love had flicked out,
our Flames no longer burned as one.
The dream we lived, I thought forever gone.
But now my tears have turned to Joy,
The dream, we dreamed, lives on.
