After Poem by Matt Johnson

After

The times we spent, the things we learned
As we passed from first to last
The darkness of our former world
Is now our treasured past!

The brightness of this new domain
No mortal eye can stand
The wonders of creation
Are now within our hand!

The galaxy once distant
Is here or I am there
The confusion of the darkness
Now gone, my thoughts are clear

The light, the peace, the fellowship
Of loved ones new and old
Now warmer, sweeter, precious
More than can be told

Things no longer are desired
Nothing is in lack
Mysteries of old are clear
Wonders now are fact

Colors, tastes, and flooding joy
Interest fills the soul
Overwhelming to non-spirit
To us in full control

This place of such perfection
For both what is and what is not
Evil, death, and suffering
Are gone, but not forgot!

So on we go and take our time
If time were still the measure
We breathe in love and exhale peace
For After is the treasure.
