After Her Smile Poem by Spiros Zafiris

After Her Smile

Rating: 5.0

no, she didn't elevate off the ground,
she didn't recite odes supreme,
nor did she demonstrate her wisdom
with axioms of fond brooks

after her smile she whispered,
'trees, alone, may yearn
and find their wishes broadcast
throughout the gardens above

every other forestlife
must wait and hope
the trees have done their wishing'
