After I Die Poem by ART PAUL SCHLOSSER

After I Die

One day you will look for me
Perhaps you will listen for my songs
Or look on the internet
You'll go to the places I hanged out at
Or buy my CD and try to write me
When at that time I am gone
Do not be afraid
Do not weep
Do not make up fables
Like they did for Elvis and Jim Morrison

One day when I am gone
Please understand
I didn't leave because I didn't love you
Rather I wait for you
I'm in a better place

One day maybe soon
You'll look for me and not understand
My music or art didn't quite make it clear
Well please realize I was human
I didn't know how to make everyone see the way I see
That the light of the Risen Lord has risen in me
I hope nothing I said misled you
But if my words pointed the wrong way
I am most sorry
I hope Jesus gives you victory
He has always been my hero

One day I hope we will meet
Where the fruit of the tree taste very sweet
And God will wipe away all your tears
One day in the New Jerusalem
