Afterlife Poem by Solomon Sunday

Afterlife

Life
Life again
We are born
Out of the past
Out of the hand of time
We live we float
Born of pain
To rule in legacy of old
A long way from home
A long path to destiny

We fight we survive
We bleed for every gain
Our life measured in deeds
To our own we sacrifice
For duty for freedom
Our existence a slave to time
Nurtured by nature
Our taste for life leads the soul on a mysterious escapade
We yearn we are lost

I think differently of life
The life of mortals
Born of clay
Bound to seasons
Breath of immortal
A vacuum for the supernatural
A space for divinity
In a bloody quest for supernatural satisfaction
Some have gambled with the underworld
A place buried in darkness
Home of demons and evil spirit
The factory of flattery and lies

I think differently of life
Where I have no control over my next breath
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
I see life stiring toward entropy
Covered by selfish canopy
We groove and strobe for earthly trophy not knowing when we would lie in the coffin
One we cannot boast with in eternity

I think differently of life
Where tomorrow does not belong to me
The future
Encapsulated by images of things to come
The Apocalypse
We are the legacy of our deeds
The sacrifice of yesterday

In world of dirt and filth
Look at love and beauty
Love the beauty of life
Beauty make the soul plead for another

We love we conquer
We have a new hope
When the heart is strong
From monster to saint
From death to life
From darkness into light
We are reborn
We are renewed
Breath after breath
Age after age
Life after life

I think differently of life
One born from the last
And the other birth a new one
From mortalityto immortality

A place forever
The Afterlife
