Aged Poem by Alejandro Torres

Aged

I have counted the grains of sand
In the hour glass of love
I have lost breath
At the lowest depths of the sea
To crawl back to you
A second time
No one escapes love
Perhaps I should have said something
Our last viewing
Perhaps just a silent cry
To see you turn around
One more time
But I let you walk out
As a Patron decreed it so
Or so it seemed
Now I hear your call
Bright as day
As alluring as night
Could it be that my father was right
About time
Could it have been
That the Goddesses answered my prayer
I have lost
I have found
But to you
My heart is bound
Through the litany of time
And through it all
Like the pillars of the Parthenon
I wait
Standing tall
For you
