Aleng Poem by Jude Rubangakene

Aleng

Heart filled with joy
His own flesh
Am giving him
A name we own now
Min Aleng! Won Aleng!
Won Aleng now we farm on
I raise her
Aleng listen!
There are reasons for your name
For you look further than it speaks of
No! She prides over it
Now I know how hard
To raise Aleng
Dignity you should portray
Aleng is opportunistic
From two wheels to four wheels
Now wings she craves for
Thought I had a dream
Than forsaken the day
I saw him go
'throw the rod and spoil the child '
That only I didn't listen
Now I hear him blame me for what Aleng is
She does not know how she got there

She does not know the pain of raisng one like her now
She forgets where she will rest with us.
