Allah: The Living Truth Poem by Mystic Qalandar

Allah: The Living Truth

Allah is not like a man in the sky.
Nor is He a set of mere beliefs, doctrines, or ancient tales to be blindly accepted or rejected.

Has there not come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing worth mentioning? Indeed, We created man from a drop of mixed fluids to test him; so We made him hearing and seeing. Indeed, We guided him to the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful.

He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and there is nothing whatsoever like unto Him.

Before there was any created thing—no man, no star, no earth, no heaven—Allah was. All things were known to Him before He brought them into existence. Then, by His command, He says: 'Be'—and it is.

Allah is the Truth (Al-Haqq) at the heart of existence.

The One who commands your heart to beat while you sleep.
The One who sends down rain from the sky, bringing forth the green grass.
The One who fashions you in the wombs as He wills, turning a single cell into a child, and a child into an old man.
The One who turns searing grief into patient perseverance (sabr) , and turns these words into a reminder (dhikr) for those who reflect.

Allah is the Knower of the unseen and the seen.
He is the One who brings forth the mysteries of birth and death, the wonders of beauty and love, the vastness of the heavens and the depths of the soul.
He is not these things, but their Creator.
He is why anything exists at all.

Allah knows all that we do not know, and whatever we know is from what He has taught us.
He holds the planets in their orbits and carries you through your days.
He is the First (Al-Awwal) and the Last (Al-Akhir) , the Outward (Az-Zahir) and the Inward (Al-Batin) .
He was there before your first thought, and He will remain long after your final thought has faded.

And so faith (īmān) is turning to Him.
Surrendering (islām) to His will.
Trusting His divine decree (qadr) .
Realising that you were never carrying yourself alone—for every breath is by His permission, every heartbeat is a trust, every moment of love, loss, and joy a test and a mercy, every instant of doubt or hope, faith or forgetfulness, already encompassed by His knowledge.

Beneath all our striving, all our fear, all our desperate attempts to control life, there is Allah—the Living (Al-Hayy) , the Self-Subsisting (Al-Qayyum) —sustaining us, supporting us, bringing us to life and causing us to die.

Call upon Him as Allah, or call upon Ar-Rahman (The Most Merciful) .
To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. Through them we come to know Him, yet His essence remains beyond all comprehension.

Believe—for belief is a light that guides the heart.
What matters is the profound relief of finally submitting, and discovering that the Creator has been carrying you all along.

Around you are His signs (āyāt) . Within you are the signs of His creation and His wisdom. Before you and behind you, long before you were born, Allah's knowledge, mercy, and decree encompassed you.

Indeed, Allah is with the patient.
And to Him is the final return.
