Almless Poem by Paul Perkins

Almless

Almless - 1995

Writhing in rows
of worm wood pews,
almless arms lift high
in skyward hallelujahs
as Brother Angelico
turns to me wild
with encroaching madness;

His charismatic motion
wrestling my conscience
nearer to submission,
while I dare not taste
the bitter sweetness of
redemption.
