Alone Is That What You Want Poem by Heather Plunkett

Alone Is That What You Want

A little girl
So whats is the deal
She was a little misused
She grew up crying
The only thing she wants is to be free
The pain will one day destroy her
the strength came from no where
She never knew she would tell her family secret
Her parents threatened her
they'd kill her,
if she told, then one day she spilled
all at once her soul and spirit died
she kept thinking about her parents words
she freaked and tried to convince them she lied
but the bruises never lie
neither do the scars on her wrist
they never believed her
she thought about running
but it was too late
they already had her chained up
locked her away
from foster home to foster home till she'd had been in 13
in and out of lockup, the battle never ends
the people she once called family
turn their backs and moved on
never to look back
what else is a lonely girl supposed to do
growing up alone is something i wish i never had to go through
