The Altar of Memories
[I. In the Valley]
In the day
Through the night
A brave man
Who is a knight
He shall ride
Unto his fate
Pressing onwards
Awaiting the day
As he rides into the sunset
He notices a few
Can’t see quite what it is
But he knows that it’s not good
Just one blur he recognize
The one of death it seems
He knows his path is difficult
And great are his deeds
Yet as the sounds of battle calls
He rides on to the east
Magistrates and Barons made
Could not complete this feat
The distant land grows nearer
In the shallows of the night
As the knight rides on to better days
The valley shows its might
Meeting up with shadow
A new path shall arrive
The knight goes back in memories
As his mind puts up a fight
He knows what he must do, must feel
He knows what’s wrong and right
A voice cries to him “Ride on! Ride on!
To the Altar of Memories! ”
Yet as the sounds of battle calls
He rides on to the east
Magistrates and Barons made
Could not complete this feat
The distant land grows nearer
In the shallows of the night
As the knight rides on to better days
The valley shows its might
[II. The Battle of Minds]
Left here!
To die!
Where is
The mind?
What to do? Who shall fight?
He shall!
[III. At the Ends of the Earth]
Drifting on to mortal mess
When shall his fear recede?
He rides on to constant death
As he hits the sea
Earth falls to the ends
Wind blows far away
Who shall tell him when
His journey is at an end?
Fearlessly he does ride on
Holding reigns in firm hands
He steered his mare to the west
And rode for distant lands
Yet now the road grows dirty
He doesn’t understand
“What God has forsake me? ”
He cries as he rides to farther lands
Calls out for redemption
Yet no God shall answer him
Cries out for salvation
Yet no deity appear
Shouts out for supplication
And they just might come near
Screams out for desecration
Yet they still not come there
[IV. The Remedy]
The knight wakes up confused and
His mind is not so clear
He looks around amazed and
Wonders what he hears
The scents of ambergris do pass
Right below his nose
He looks up to the starry sky
And sees the beauty unknown
Panacea, beauty sure
The knight reaches out to touch her face
Feeling slightly flighty
He knows there’s no escape
He believes this is his path
His journey’s at an end
Yet he does not know the truth
In fact it just began
Seeing her hair shine with grace
Her beautiful embrace
She promised him a world perfect
Yet nothing did she make
And he knows he must soon leave her
Before he dies in pain
Panacea, loving sure
He can’t resist her gentle allure
He promises her his life
Yet he knows that it’s not real
[V. The High Realm]
The sun shines on high
He rides into the nigh
Drinking so merrily
He takes it in one at a time
When shall he reach his final goal?
Riding weary into the shoal
Find a new pathway
For the one you take is false
Watch out for him
The man who shall do all
He is a shadowed menace
He has no heart no life
Nothing ever matters
He just goes to take his rights
The night is long
The road is almost done
He doubts his ride
As he tries to hide
He knows what lurks out there
As he rides into the night
Find a new pathway
For the one you take is false
Watch out for him
The man who shall do all
He is a shadowed menace
He has no heart no life
Nothing ever matters
He just goes to take his rights
[VI. The Altar]
Look! He’s found the right path
And that distant land is here
Watch his mare ride faster
As he does draw ever near
Hear the singing voices
Go on inside his head
Feel the beating of his heart
He knows that he’s not dead
Now, at last the knight comes to
The Altar of Memories
He thought it would be easy
Yet he underestimated death
Maybe his journey ends here
But, his life it shall not change
Life is just a candle, and a dream
Must give it flame
The road, the end is here now
Showing their right pride
Still the Knight is unsure
As he comes he has arrived
Though he sees the altar
He’s sure it’s not at end
Like the raising of the raging tides
He’ll be showing up again
Through all time
He shall ride
Searching for
His own right
Where he goes
Where he’s gone
It shall never
Come to the dawn
In the mind
