Amazed Poem by Ella Goodman

Amazed

I often stare up at the night sky,
Spotting the stars that shimmer light years away.
With naked eyes I look up in awe,
Drawing images of the universe in delight,
Mesmerised in feel—eternal zeal,
Soaked in beauty of the night.
Soft, serene—hush voices of the creatures of dark,
Appeal my senses and I feel no more lost,
But united in spirit.
My soul in oneness with the sky and the stars.

I stare as far as I can see,
With silence of the night engulfing me,
So many questions pop up in my mind,
And I drift to a world where I long to be,
Floating among the stars—wild and carefree.
The murmurs in my mind grow deep,
Endless riddles, answers that I restlessly seek.
Beyond the realm of time and worldly fares,
I shed my cloak of earthly stares,
To delve deep in the bosom of the celestial cares.

The stars—they arouse in me a flame,
To unravel the stories they long to tell.
Concoct do I tales of the hidden truth,
Or do the stars whisper to me their views?
I cannot say for sure which way it is,
Illusions my mind creates, or,
Whispered tales by the flaming sails,
Floating in eternal time thus thrust,
Our unwoven bond that do not rust.
But gravitate I more towards their pull
Speak in silence; melt in their hues.

A nexus shrouded in mystery and unwavering trust,
Precious and rare— from soul to dust.
So I often gaze after the fall of dusk,
To unwind, reconnect with the ones I feel are mine.
Pure in feel, no worries to deal,
Like floating among the constellations, steadfast and willed,
So many sights I hence conjure,
Hear the music of the distant world unexplored.
Such a muse it is to traverse where the cosmos yields,
Soak the soul in their layers unpeeled.
