Amelia Poem by Vesper Starr

Amelia

Tell me Amelia
When you smile in your sleep
Are you thinking of heaven
And where you used to be?

Are your sudden cries
Ones of sadness at the thought
Of the celestial home you traded
For the new one that you got?

I may never know
Why you chose to be with me
But I look into your precious eyes
And know that I am not worthy.

That you let go of God's hands
To put your tiny one in mine
Overwhelms me,
And I know that your divine.

Vesper (Mom) written when you were a baby that always smiled and never cried.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I never planned on having a child, but when I saw her for the very first time I was madly in love with her and there was nothing but perfection in every inch of her.. She despises me now and won't speak to me, she has been filled with lies about a past she wasn't even alive for, and it breaks my heart every day. But she has found a good husband and made a little family. Something she always has wanted so I am happy like any Mother, I just want her to be loved and happy. And I think she is.
