An End Poem by Natasha Sharma

An End

There were no promises made,
No spoken words that with time would fade;
He just took her hand and held it awhile,
as he lay there in blood, forcing a smile.

Memories returned: oh! how they sang and danced!
Holding each other, in love they were tranced.

Together they have come a long way,
But, now, one has to go and the other has to stay;
He had heard that the journey beyond wasn’t an easy ride,
How could he let her go through, with him not by her side!

Oh, her love for him was no less,
When death struck the blow, she took it on her chest.

She fell in his arms,
Holding onto his love, she was dying with no qualms.
She smiled at him and kissed his hand,
And then she was gone, to wait for him, on a distant land.
