An Unknown Light Poem by Aimee Nell

I look around.
Darkness.
A dim light here and there.
Not enough to chase away the blackness,
The emptiness.
Then something new draws my sight.
I move closer.
A light.
Never noticed before.
Bright, but appearing dim.
A black aura surrounds it.
I watch it, enchanted.
I cannot look away.
I cannot move.
'How do I reach it? ' I wonder.
I reach toward it, mesmerized.
I touch the inky blackness surrounding it.
I gasp.
Coldness.
I scream.
Fire.
Memories,
The lights',
My own,
Others'.
Pain.
I reach the light.
Light.
It consumes me.
Bliss.
