And So The Dreams Break



And so the dreams break;
Those eyes were fickle and fake,
That fire in them was just a Sun's beam,
When in my heart appeared a dream.

I thought you were an angel of light,
Who after his heavenly flight
Has landed on earth of suffering and pain
To give us peace and love again.

But when the Sun went down the sea,
I understood; and now I see,
That you are only a mortal creation
Whose heart is full of animation…
