And Then Her Thoughts Interrupt Me Poem by chelliah pandian

And Then Her Thoughts Interrupt Me

Sitting in the corner of a room
reading a beautiful novel
her thoughts interrupt me

I walk outside my heart
to the verandah
where the dicey rain
has left a slump of water
crying behind

I jump with a thud
splashing water
everywhere

and then sheepishly
i walk back and finish
the beautiful novel
