Another Cinderella Story! Poem by Akash Dhobale

Another Cinderella Story!

From names to dear, then dear to baby,
An affection prevailed for sure or maybe,
Those sleepless nights their stupid fights,
That truth n dare game, she always hid that name,
Her freaking crazy texts, always made him wonder what's next!

From needs to their crushes, when anything was to share,
For him it was her and for her he was always there,
Months rolled to years and life was fun, sans tears,
Usual talks, seldom shows, unknowingly all brought them further close,
No matter of the options, it was she, whom he always chose.

Hopping on streets to shopping in malls, eating at stalls n teasing in movie halls,
That hot lava cake, those initials and their make,
Days were going fairy tale,
Seldom was it apparent that their journey was soon gonna derail.

She was his Cinderella and he was her prince,
Sole was the reason they believed,
That a pair of shoe can cease their mince.

As sun started its journey to the west,
They slowly watched their fairy tale coming to rest.
That last hug, that last cry, one last stare n a farewell bye,
He just broke, as away did she fly.

Eventually destiny had its say,
Their purple story drastically turned grey,
A strange new world for her and alone was he left to stay.

She cried, he tried,
She had people to console; he had no one to do that role,
He cried and cried but tears betrayed,
However hard he tried, he just couldn't get her out of his head.

He always just understood and never did complain,
Deep inside he also wanted someone to understand his pain,
Wasn't he hurt? He was! Didn't he cry? He did,
Putting a happy face to world, all the sufferings he hid.

His presence will bother her, so did he keep himself away,
But apart from each other, heart n its beats just can't stay,
He knew she was hurt, he knew she had cried,
But his memories should fade n those tears be dried.

He needs a hug, a shoulder to cry,
Alone with her memories, he looks at the sky,
Looking at those stars, he misses his moon,
He hopes somewhere she wants to meet him soon.
Alone he screams to make himself feel alive,
He has survived, not lived since the rive.

The sun has risen again, but with diverse aims,
From baby to dear, then dear to names,
No longer do they play those games,
No texts, no calls, they miss those movie halls,
As fortune had its say, they're no longer together to stay,
Yearning euphoria for her, he'll keep himself at bay!
