Another Me Poem by Nitya Swaruba

Another Me

I've always wondered
What life would be
If there was one
Another me
Those empty spaces
In the head
Won't fill up
They'd grow instead
I'd get my opinion
Take my advice
I'd be my minion
Never think twice
I'd know I look good
Without a mirror
For a mood that's good
I'd pull myself together
Time's a luxury
I'd never say it
In two places at once
That's more like it
A part of me
Would be my whole
The nothing I do
Would become twofold
My hand's around you
I'm sitting beside
All the while you stare
At me standing outside
In choosing between me
You'll never be lost
With either of me
You're never at a loss
This sounds silly
But what do you know
I'll stay back for you
And I'll also go
All this makes me
Wonder even more
If it'll be just me
When I see you tomorrow.
