Another Mistake Poem by Shelby Lanier

Another Mistake

A tear rolls down my face
As I recover from the mistake,
That will continue to fill my mind
And clutter it with thoughts to overtake

I begin to add to the blame
Of foolishness and remorse,
Of the past regrets
From the days once before

I keep asking for forgiveness
But continue to give in
To the temptation of pleasure
That soon comes to an end…

I need someone to help me
To rid me free from this pain;
To deliver me from the torture
And agony that seems to remain

Set me free from this bondage;
Never ending battle, without a win…
That consumes my mind of thoughts
Then restarts this cycle of sin…
