Another Year Poem by Mathew Thomas

Another Year

Providence that I have another year,
Neither at snail's pace nor in a hurried tear,
The past few months,
Lived each moment only once,
Cherished each moment,
With sunrise and sunset,
And thanked God for His Blessings.

Shall I fret and fume over the past,
Or forgive and forget,
Thank Him for each year that passed,
And achieved so many,
With His Blessings and prayers of many,
For the years are few and puny,
And count my Blessings as many.

I have no time to settle scores,
But count my Blessings ten score,
As in pilgrim's progress,
I shall inch my way,
Up the steep slope on the way,
Do my best for there is no other way,
Counting my Blessings along the way.
