April 15th Poem by Asma Khan

April 15th

I was out of a soul
that could live, love and feel
so I borrowed one from the devil's destiny
It was full of sins
dark and fake
ruptured and blank
full of sighs and ashes

I was out of a name
that could live, love and feel
so I borrowed one of the fortune teller
It was full of assumptions
quiet and strong
lied and lost
full of tires and errors

I was out of a life
that could live, love and feel
so I borrowed one from the blooming spring
It was full of wonders
fragrant and young
vibrant and beautiful
full of colours and charms

I was out of a love
that could live, love and feel
so I borrowed one from the time's pocket
It was full dreams
charismatic and spell casting
joyful and lively
full of pains and scars
