April Poem by Neil Graham Marsden

April

Rating: 5.0

I recall now to minds desire
when first we met in fields of fire,
cowering there upon the stairs,
your presence caught me unawares.

Behind those waiting coats in line
two terrified brown eyes held mine,
your anguished face and tear-gelled hair
belied the beauty hidden there.

Though what the night had stripped away
would be replaced ten-fold today.
What words there were went left unsaid
as souls united there instead.

For in your heart from that day on
you knew that when the beast had gone,
we could return here to this place
to honour your defiant grace.

Wow! What a cool poem Neil, filled with so much rhythmic musicality of a romantic meeting at April. You remind me of the romantic sensuous poet 'John Keats'. I love the entire rhymes.
