Are You Really Alone? Poem by Kinso Wolf

Are You Really Alone?

When only life is in your way,
Upon the hard ground you lay,
There is no point to pray,
There's but nothing left to say.

As you lay the time will tick,
You want to move not slow but quick,
Though not knowing which path to pick,
Stuck in another of life's cruel tricks.

Wishing for all of this to end,
For every person this will depend,
Will you run, hide, or defend,
Or will you fight and make amends.

Through the path you walk alone,
Getting closer to the unknown,
You are limp, cold as stone,
Knowing this is the life you own.

As you walk you see a light,
It isn't day nor is it night,
As it grows in your sight,
You smile as you reunite.

Since the start to the finish,
There is something that will not vanish,
That fate can't stop and life can't vanquish,
The power of a true friends promise.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is about a person who's had a hard life and has gives up not knowing what to do next. What inspired me to make this something a friend told me. 'No matter what I'll always be there for you.' Hopefully that promise will live on.
