As I Say, Not Do. Poem by Thabile Nhlapo

As I Say, Not Do.

'Well they tell us one thing and do another'
A drunk friend cheers on....PREACH
Am not going to church,
These people are liars
Preach my dawg (Dog) PREACH!

I Listen and think- Lost sheep
Where is it written in the scripture - Do as I do?
Am I preaching? ... NO just Teaching
And I quote from the Holy Bible:
Matthew 23: 2
'The teachers of religious law
Are official interpreters of the law of Moses
3 So practice and obey what they tell,
But DONT follow their example,
For they don't practice what they teach'

Well that's not me
That's the teacher teaching me....
Teach - that's only what I aim to do
No judgement- just the truth being taught
Remember the way is narrow and tough
Those who go by here-say
Will be alone on Judgement day
We live together but die individually
Be taught!
